Our outdoor therapy approach fosters resilience, curiosity, and confidence, making each session not just therapeutic but an adventure your child will look forward to. Playing in nature enhances children’s concentration, memory, and creativity. It strengthens their social skills and fosters independence. Playing in the outdoors provides valuable sensory experiences and supports emotional development. Children who play in outdoors develop a deeper connection with nature and themselves! They will get muddy! So pack a change of clothes for the ride home.

Currently, we are a cash pay only therapy company. This allows for us to provide treatment that is in the best interest of the child and family and not dictated by the parameters of a third party payer. We will provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement depending on your plan. We also plan to have scholarships available for families that are unable to afford private pay therapy.

We follow the Scandinavian belief that “there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing”. With that, the Scandinavians do not experience heat waves of triple digits. Sessions will be cancelled on days of 103F or higher, as well as poor air quality days during fire season. Reimbursement or make up session will be offered should this occur.
Should a session be cancelled due to the unlikeliness of a therapist being unavailable, reimbursement or a make up session will be offered

Bring a water bottle, and jacket or sweatshirt in the winter. Wear closed toe shoes that allow for hiking and climbing. On rainy days please send your child in rain boots with a rain jacket (no umbrellas). Layers are recommended for winter sessions. Please apply sunscreen and bug spray if desired prior to session starting. It may be a good idea to pack a change of clothes for the ride home, as your child may get wet and/or muddy during sessions. If your child has clothing sensitivities please speak with your therapist about this and they can plan strategically with you.

We are fortunate to have access from Folsom Parks and Rec to use the toilets at the Hinkle Creek Nature Center. This can be a 10-15 minute walk from where we may be on the trail. If a child is unable to make it to the toilets, they will be given privacy or assistance for a “bush wee”. We also follow the pack it out policy in respect to nature and therapist will be equipped with the necessary items should this be needed
Individual Sessions
How do I enroll my child in individual OT/ST?
Our individual services begin with a comprehensive Occupational Therapy (OT) or Speech Therapy (ST) Assessment to identify your child’s unique needs and collaboratively establish personalized goals. This assessment helps us create a tailored intervention plan designed to support your child’s growth and development. You can “click join waitlist” at the bottom of your preferred listed service and we will notify you when spots become available.
What does an individual session outdoors look like?
At No Walls, our individual OT/ST sessions are designed to be engaging and rooted in the power of PLAY and outdoor adventures. Each session includes the child and the therapist, creating an environment that supports your child’s growth in meaningful ways as defined by the goal(s) set collaboratively with your therapist
How long will therapy last?
An individual session will last for 60 minutes including parent-therapist consult. Group OT sessions may run up to 90 minutes depending on the size and ages of the group.
Do parents have to stay for individual sessions?
We always welcome parent involvement and this can be discussed upon evaluation. Please always ensure that your therapist knows exactly where to find you in case of an emergency. For safety, we require that parents or caregivers stay ON-SITE at the park in an easily accessible location nearby during your child’s therapy session.
Where do individual sessions take place?
Hinkle Creek Nature Area in Folsom, CA. Please meet the OT/SLP at the trail head entrance.
How are individual OT/ST sessions different from group?
Individual services allow the therapist to provide more 1:1 support. Individual services are a great fit if your child may not be ready for a group setting or requires extra guidance and support to navigate through therapy activities.
Group Sessions
-
Children practice skills in real-world, social situations while immersed in a motivating environment. Benefits include:
Building social communication skills (turn-taking, perspective-taking, problem-solving)
Practicing teamwork and collaboration
Encouraging flexibility and confidence
Learning to regulate emotions and behaviors in a group setting
Generalizing therapy goals into natural, everyday contexts
-
Group sizes are intentionally kept small (typically 2–4 children) to allow for meaningful interaction while still providing individualized attention from the therapist.
-
Group therapy brings together small groups of children with similar needs to work on speech, language, or occupational therapy goals in a shared outdoor environment. Sessions are designed to encourage peer interaction, teamwork, and social growth while targeting individual goals.
-
Before joining a group, each child’s strengths and needs are reviewed. During sessions, activities are designed to support both group participation and individual goals. Therapists collect data on each child’s progress to ensure personalized growth.
-
Activities are designed with flexibility so that each child can participate at their own level. For example, a storytelling task might involve one child labeling objects, another forming sentences, and another telling a short narrative—all within the same activity.
-
Parents are encouraged to receive feedback after sessions. We share strategies to carry over group-based skills like cooperation, conversation, and problem-solving into home and community settings.

Group therapy is an excellent, supportive way for children to practice social skills at their own pace. Therapists scaffold interactions to ensure each child feels safe and included, gradually building confidence in peer relationships.
